LCD TV May 30, 2010 M. Grimmer (Norfolk, U.K.) After my daughter had put the Wii remote through my yr old flat screen TV I found myself in the market for a new TV. Did a bit of research on the net and found this Samsung TV met all my requirements. However, it was not widely available in local stores, so I decided to order it from Amazon.
Delivery of the TV was prompt. Having unpacked the TV and turned it on, to be honest I wasn't impressed. The picture quality was ok, but I prefered my old LG. I find the picture quality ok if one looks directly at the screen, but if you are sitting looking at the screen 'side-on' it has a whitish hue about it. The remote control is on the large side, and isn't the same colour as the TV, in bright light ie sun light, it looks slightly burgundy. The TV design is very stylish, but the high gloss finish is a nightmare, the whole TV is a dust magnet, and the high gloss finish to the back of the TV is terrible, it seems all you have to do is look at it for it to become scratched. I was disappointed to find once I had taken off the protective film from the front of the TV several scratches/marks already there. You can't see them unless you look for them, but I know they are there, which isn't good for a brand new item. The best thing about the TV is the solid glass stand, which, unlike other reports, I had no trouble at all assembling, it was easy and straight forward. The sound quality is ok, nothing great, and you definitely need a home cinema system to enjoy films. Once connected to such a system and you've enabled the tru-sound, its fantastic. The internet function is not worth having, it's slow and limited, in fact, for me, it has become annoying, much easier to use a PC or laptop, or like me, use my notebook in the lounge. I was disappointed to find I couldn't return the TV either for a full refund as I had opened the package and turned it on, which in one sence is understandable, but on the other hand how can you tell if you like such an item until you have actually seen it working. I was told I could return it but would only get pack a fraction of what I'd paid for it. In hind sight I will not be making such a large purchase again from an internet site, far better to actually see a product in a showroom before purchasing, I will be looking to replace this TV in the next few yrs, and putting this one in my bedroom. Just have to put this puchase down to 'experience'.
Picture quality April 29, 2010 Mr. Glyn D. Harper (Isle of Man) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have not bought one of these TV's yet, but it is on my shopping list.
I was in Marks and Spencers, and they had a display of about 20 different Plasma and LCD tv's. They were all playing the same film, which I think was a blu ray of 'Monsters Inc' or something.
Straight away, my eye was drawn to the Samsung 32B650. The picture quality is absolutely staggering. There are no other words for it. The crystal clear resolution, the saturation of the colours, are all amazing. But the thing I noticed the most, when there is a lot of movement on screen, the picture is absolutely smooth. There is no jerkiness whatsoever, it's incredible.
Although I wasn't in the market for a 32" TV (I already have an older one) I was that amazed by how this TV stood out so far from the rest, that I'm going to get one when I get paid.
I cannot rate this TV highly enough. If you really need convincing, go and have a look at one in a TV shop, as you will be amazed.
Samsung LE32B650T2 April 13, 2010 Brian Bailey (West Sussex) Very pleased with purchase. Delivery was perfect, assembly was easy, setup fine using Humax FreeSat. Quality of picture is amazing, coupled into my home network and worked but very slow to find the computer pictures I wanted to view mainly because unable to change directories however copied films onto USB and it's works very well. The black surround and stand does show dust so now cleaning daily and not monthly. ps BBC iPlayer works very well via red button
Fantastic Television April 10, 2010 Mr. S. Bryant (Britain) A very nice Television, does (almost) all that I need and more.
Rather slow with the inbuilt games and (wired) Internet connection, but as I have no real plans to use these again after the initial "playing around" I have no gripes. Certainly feel the cost involved to purchase the Samsung WiFi dongle is a waste of money.
I have no problems connecting my Computer using an HDMI cable, and have two 16 GB USB's full of additional films, music, and pictures sticking out the side (which are not in view from the front).
Only two issues for me are:
Firstly, the ability to view the controls on the set itself. Almost impossible to see in daylight, and at night in a darkened room, forget it, they might as well not be there. Stick to using the remote control.
Secondly, there is no Master Power Off switch. The set is either in Stand-By, or you have to kill power at the mains. Not good for myself as the plug is inaccessible.
Apart from the power issue all I could require in a TV, connectivity and picture quality are brilliant. I would certainly recommend it.
Incredible March 1, 2010 Mr. Pareen Patel (Loughborough, UK) This TV is absolutely incredible. Does everything I'd want it to including playing files striaght from my USB hard drive and pen drive.
I'd done alot of research before hand before purchasing the product. The picture is crystal clear and the tv is perfectly compatable with my PS3.
I highly recommend this tv and two of my friends have already purchased the same set (but different sizes) and are very happy with their investments.
