Disappointed February 14, 2010 David (U.K.) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this TV to use with my Humax freesat box to view the HD programs from BBC and ITV on the freesat channels.
Whilst the picture is good, the sound suffers from lip sync problems, the vision preceeds the sound and makes the program unwatchable. This seems to occur on any transmission using Dolby Digital encoding(ie HD and some other non freesat channels). I have tried my freesat box on another make of TV with no problems. This problem only occurs when using an HDMI connection, scart is OK but, of course, cannot handle HD.
The TV has been back to LG twice with no improvement. Research on the web indicates that this is a common problem with this combination of equipment.
If you are thinking of buying this set,be warned.

Superb! January 31, 2010 C E N (Devon UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This television is a superb purchase, and a steal at the listed price. For gamers out there both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 look fantastic on this television. As for Blu-ray, the 100HZ processing really enhances the cinema experience, although at first (if you have not previously had a 100hz television) the experience is some what odd, almost as if the picture is been fast forward, however after a while it becomes clear it just looks like real life movement!
The product has only received 4 stars because of....Sound Quality, although not a major problem, LG's invisible speakers can not handle bass very well. However you will struggle to find a LCD television on the market that actually can deliver amazing sound quality out of the box. This would easily be solved by a cheap set of external speakers with a sub. Highly recommended!!!
Persistance is required January 18, 2010 M. Neville (Derby) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The first thing I have to comment on is the superb delivery service from Amazon. It came within a couple of days of me ordering online, and all this when Britain was under a deep covering of snow! Very impressive.
What's not quite so impressive is the TV itself. This is my first LCD TV having made the step up from my old 24 inch CRT Thomson box TV. £470 odd pound is an awful lot of money for me so I really did my homework on this. I wanted 1080p, 100mhz and a contrast ratio as high as possible. This TV delivers on that spec but the results on a standard def picture are not up to my expectations.
For a start, there seems to be more blur with the 100mhz option switched on than with it turned off altogether, yet this is one of the features your paying top dollar for! It's almost pointless it being there.
The picture straight out of the box is poor. Much tweaking is required. Fortunately, the menu system is intuitive and there are a huge amount of things you can adjust with relative ease; good, because the instruction manual is on CD ROM. Not very handy really.
I find the way to get the sharpest, richest picture is to turn the backlight, brightness and contrast down quite heavily. This ultimately results in quite a dark picture but it's the only way to get a satisfactory result. I am mainly watching standard definition tv through a Virgin Media box, which does not have an output socket for an HDMI cable. Watching through my old, bog standard scart cable yielded poor results. I brought a gold plated scart lead and the improvement was dramatic. It's all about the connection sometimes.
DVD's are superb though. The tv really comes into it's own in this respect with stunning crystal clear images. I guess if your willing to subscribe to an HD service then this TV could be for you. I found that standard def pictures tend to be richer in colour and sharpness on my out of date CRT TV that's over 10 years old. Guess I'll have to wait for the day all tv signals are High def before I get true value from this.
my beautiful new tv January 10, 2010 Mr. Kenneth Cartwright (Sutton,Surrey,UK) I wanted an LCD 32" tv that would have as good a picture as my outgoing Toshiba 32" 100hz crt tv.That tv had a very good picture for all types of transmissions especially with my sky+ box. This LG product lives up to its name in spades.I would reccomend it to anyone moving over from crt tvs.I will not necessarily use it to its full potential with reference to all its input capabilities. It is very stylish, and I have enhanced it with a matching stand. In a nutshell, wonderful.
Perfection December 31, 2009 H. Morse (Plymouth) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this TV based on its features compared with its low price, the tv excels in every way! Never imagined it would work so well when handling standard definition, there is no digital noise at all when watching digital or any other standard resolution images. The expert settings on it really allow you to customize it to your liking, however the pre-set modes are also fantastic, especially the IS mode. Not to mention the televisions outstanding performance when watching blu-rays! The 100HZ processor just perfects this tv, making a seamless image making normal DVD's look HD in my opinion. I have tried this TV out with Blu Ray, PS3, Xbox 360, and Digital tv and it exceeds in all aspects. Well worth the money, fully satisfied 100% !
