| Customer Reviews: At last, a TV with no clutter (Built-in Blue Ray & Freeview HD) August 21, 2010 Dancer (London) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm delighted with this TV. Elegant, functional and excellent quality - Having one TV with a built-in Blu-Ray player (also plays DVDs), a built-in Freeview HD receiver and with built-in internet TV access (having purchased the WiFi dongle separately) all within one seamless unit without endless cables and one, yes one, remote control is a joy!
Setting up the internet WiFi dongle took about 60 seconds without any issues or problems - I simply wrote down the ID number from the back of my Broadband WiFi modem and entered it on screen when the TV prompted me; Simple. I have a standard BT internet home broadband hub out in the hallway, and the stability and quality has been superb. The internet TV options have been a revelation and this is surely the future. I can only wait eagerly until Sony adds the promised BBC iPlayer to its list.
This TV makes your life so much simpler!
Nice piece of kit 1 July 24, 2010 Peter Ralston (liverpool england) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is my second Sony , I chose it as my main 42 inch is so good. Its a very good product, smart and very functional, easy to set up and picture is superb on HD and very good on normal channels, Freeview is good and I find the sound is very easily adjusted to personal taste. All in all I am very pleased wth it !
great idea but a little impractical for wall hanging June 24, 2010 R. Fraser (Berks, UK) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a great innovation from Sony putting a blue ray player in a great TV like this. I was looking at getting a new TV. It satisfied my criteria of good quality, freeview, and HD. it is also internet ready (LAN only) and wireless compatible (with the purchase of a SONY specific USB wireless device - costing about £65 right now). So dont be fooled with it stating internet ready. it is only internet ready if you can easily plug in a network cable from your local area network. The only real issue I have is that almost all of the inputs are at the rear of the screen. which makes it just about nearly impossible to plug anything in after it has been wall mounted. Even the aerial input is at the rear and not accessible once mounted. I also thought that as it had a built in blue ray player, Sony should have made the remote bluetooth like the PS3 rather than the standard RF.
Other than that, it is a great TV and I hope to enjoy for years to come.
